Every lawyer has a marketing folder. Most of them are
disorganized collections of notes, address lists, articles, seminar invitations,
competitors' marketing materials, and other miscellaneous scraps of paper. My
Marketing Folder on MarketYourLawPractice.com will save you time and money by
organizing and supporting your marketing efforts in a secure, easy-to-use,
Web-based environment. Organized to mirror the structure
of MarketYourLawPractice.com , My Marketing Folder contains the results of all
the work you have done at any given time on the Web site so you can easily pick
up where you left off. Read on to find out more about how members can make the
most of this interactive filing system.
How is My
Marketing Folder Organized?
Every interactive tool in My
Marketing Tools is automatically saved in My Marketing Folder. If you can input data or content into a
page on the Web site, it’s stored here.
My Marketing Folder is organized the same way My Marketing Tools is
organized, using the Four Portals: Assess, Plan, Implement and Measure. The tools are listed in alphabetical
order in each portal folder to make them easier to find. For example, the Assess folder contains
all the assessments that you can take on the site, in alphabetical order.
How do I save
something to My Favorites and where do I find it in My Marketing
Folder?
At the top of every page in My
Marketing Tools is a navigation bar that includes a button called “Add to
Favorites”. Select that button on
any page, and a link to that page will go into a Favorites subfolder in the
appropriate folder, depending on what portal of the site the page is found in
(Assess, Plan, Implement or Measure).
Can I
find my Contact Manager and Activity Manager in My Marketing
Folder?
Links to the Contact
Manager and Activity Manager are in the Implement folder. There is a link to Add an Activity or a
Contact, and links to the master reports as well.
What’s
in “Marketing Reports”?
The Marketing Reports
folder contains three reports: My Essay Question Summary, My Marketing
Report Card, and My Marketing Successes. The first two are generated
automatically as you work through My Marketing Tools, keeping track of
your scores and answers so you can find them quickly. The third report is a document that
helps you keep track of how your marketing efforts are paying off. You can open this
document, save data in it, and then save it to your
computer.
What
are “My Personal Folders”?
This is where My
Marketing Folder gets really amazing.
You can upload documents from your computer to be stored in My Marketing
Folder. You can add and rename
subfolders in My Personal Folders, allowing you to organize your documents as
you see fit. You can delete files
or subfolders. You can also send a
document to Your Virtual Marketing Coach for review – see below for more about
that feature.
What
is “Marketing Coach Review”?
You can send any of
your uploaded documents to Your Virtual Marketing Coach to ask for feedback and
comments. You will want to use this
feature with documents that are in their final draft form, when you are ready to
send them to clients. The kinds of
documents that are appropriate for review are things like key messages, your
biography, examples of representative experience elevator speeches or
proposals. Your Marketing Coach
will review your document and send comments back to you. You’ll be able to see the comments in an
email, as well as access them from within My Marketing Folder.
