Wheeler said her MarketYourLawPractice.com's new Web-based legal marketing tool, two years in the making, fills a void in the marketplace. She said there is one East Coast company she knows of that provides online legal marketing assistance, but its service is not nearly as comprehensive.
"We know from experience that lawyers enter private practice with no formal training in marketing," Wheeler said. "We also realize that not all lawyers and law firms have the budget to hire marketing consultants and marketing coaches. MarketYourLawPractice.com is a subscription-based service. Lawyers can purchase an annual license for full access to MarketYourLawPractice.com. The fee is approximately $1,450 per licensed user. Firms with multiple lawyers using MarketYourLawPractice.com will pay a discounted annual fee depending upon the number of users within the firm. PSM ran a soft launch of the new MarketYourLawPractice.com web site in May with about 30 Twin Cities-based attorneys. Feedback from this group enabled PSM to make final changes to the site and launch it publicly on June 12, 2007. The MarketYourLawPractice.com site will launch first in Minnesota by actively communicating to lawyers licensed to practice in the state using electronic communications, direct mail, public relations, and advertising.
